Call for Demos (Industry Days)

The CLEF Conference addresses all aspects of Information Access in any modality and language. In 2019, the CLEF conference will be held for the first time in Switzerland and in collaboration with the Swiss Alliance for Data-Intensive Services. This year, CLEF is open to a wider, industrial community.
The CLEF Industry Days are foreseen to bring together practitioners from industry and transfer-minded members of the academic community. They will allow the interaction between the scientific community and this wider audience through presentations, demo sessions, panels and special keynotes.
Both members from industry and from the academic community are invited to contribute to the Industry Days. We therefore invite proposals for demonstrations which will be shown at the CLEF 2019 Demo Sessions. We look forward seeing and trying interesting:
- Showcase information access applications
- Functional prototypes of information access systems
- Exhibit new advances in information access
Format
Submissions should be in PDF format and have a maximum length of 1 page and contain all of the following elements:
- a title
- the motivation of the demonstrated concepts
- the development and functionality of the work in an interactive setting
- the significance of the contribution both from a research and from a practical perspective
- a short author biography
The program committee will select demonstrations based on their relevance to CLEF 2019. For all accepted demos, the physical presence of at least one presenter during the entire Demo Session is required. The Demo Sessions are part of the Industry Days, which takes place on 11 September 2019 and 12 September 2019. The presenter(s) must be registered to the Industry Days of CLEF 2019.
